They call it Victoria

There really isnt a beach in Southern California that I dont love. I definitely have favorites, and if a client wants rocks or more open space, I for sure have beaches which come to mind. You might say I know my beaches in South OC. Newport Im not a big fan of...yet. I have yet to explore it. I shot once at the pier in Newport on Valentines day and it was a zoo...next time I will choose another day. We chose Victoria beach in Laguna this day because it was steps away from a beautiful beach house their family was renting for the month, and a wonderful backdrop with towering rocks in the background and open space. It was high tide, so we did have to deal with crashing waves, and the wind was going pretty good...but always a good shoot at the beach. Ocean light is magic. There is something about the light being bounced off the sea which does something really special. Every shot is almost perfect straight out of the camera. These two I recommended we shoot after the honeymoon, when the stress of the wedding day was gone and when we could perhaps get the bottom of her dress wet and not freak out too much. Why is it that wedding day is so stressful? I have yet to figure that out. I know why, but I would love to come up with a way to take it away and make it sheer bliss...when I come up with a plan, I will let you all know. In the meantime, here is my version of sheer bliss. I made a flower crown out of succulents and gathered some garden roses for a fresh bouquet. These might be a few of the more candid ones. Straight out of the camera. And the more I shoot, the more I love the silly ones. (These two especially silly...oh I loved it).
